Yejide is a seasoned Regulatory Compliance and Government Relations professional with over 15 years of experience in the energy, finance and public sector industries. She leads Brightaic’s legal advisory, regulatory compliance, and public affairs initiatives to drive solar energy adoption across Nigeria. With a dynamic career spanning law, government relations, and stakeholder engagement, Yejide brings a unique blend of legal acumen, strategic foresight, and a deep commitment to climate action.
Prior to joining Brightaic, she served as Lead, Regulatory Affairs and Government Relations at the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) in Nigeria, where she played a pivotal role in developing and implementing key compliance frameworks, including the IBEDC’s Occupational Health and Safety policy used in the ISO 45001 application. She brings this expertise to her work at Brightaic where she oversees legal compliance across the company’s importation, distribution, and government and stakeholders’ relations operations.
Her expertise spans regulatory audits, stakeholder relations management, policy development, and risk management. Yejide sees solar energy not just as a business opportunity but as a platform for environmental justice and energy equity in Nigeria. She is committed to using her legal and advocacy expertise to propel the adoption of solar energy, particularly by advancing inclusive policies that support underserved and rural communities.
Yejide’s leadership reflects Brightaic’s mission to promote systemic change in Nigeria’s energy landscape through innovation, policy engagement, and community empowerment. With a legal background and international experience in both Nigeria and Canada, Yejide offers an international perspective on energy regulation and governance. Educated in both Nigeria and Canada, Yejide holds a Law degree from the University of Ilorin, a master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution from the University of Ibadan and a graduate certificate in Government Relations Management from Seneca College, Toronto. She remains dedicated to driving compliance and stakeholder trust in the energy sector.
